Golf and skiing near Lake Country, BC
Lake Country sits between Kelowna and Vernon, and the golf courses and both ski hills are on either side of it: the Kelowna courses to the south, Predator Ridge and The Rise in Vernon to the north, Big White southeast of Kelowna and SilverStar northeast of Vernon. Big White: 119 designated trails across 105 kilometres of marked terrain, 17 lifts and a vertical drop of 777 metres, with the longest run 7.2 kilometres.
SilverStar: 3,304 skiable acres, 133 marked runs and a vertical drop of 760 metres, with the longest run 8 kilometres.8
When does the 2026/27 ski season open?
Big White opens on Thursday 26 November 2026 and closes on Sunday 4 April 2027.
SilverStar's dates are tentative: Nordic skiing from 20 November 2026, alpine from 27 November 2026, alpine closing on 4 April 2027.9
